Carbon Tax

I have not yet had time to examine the 2 competing Carbon Tax proposals. One is intended to be revenue-neutral while the other is designed to generate additional tax revenue.

To be honest, I am not sure carbon taxes are a good idea if they are intended to be purely punitive and use the carbon emitters as a scapegoat for our own personal decisions. Having said that, yes I am a treehugger who believes we are causing the climate to change.

I may be willing to support a carbon tax if it's truly capable of reducing our harm to the environnment in a manner which does not unfairly penalize low-income people and communities of color.
